Dreamcatcher Jewelry
It started out as an idea from my friend. we were going to make full blown, bona fide dreamcatchers and sell them at the local craft fair. We looked up an amazing, easy to understand tutorial at Native Tech's website and decided to buy all the materials when we could spare the money. That day never came. I decided to see if I could make dreamcatchers with materials I already had. I found many hoops, but they were all tiny. The idea to turn them into necklaces and earrings was born.
I used the tutorial at nativetech and altered it in these ways:
materials
Instead of vines, use a keyring, a metal bangle bracelet, or any other small, sturdy ring. Instead of suede or leather, I wrapped with hemp, and I used heavy duty button thread as the the string. I used a hemp tassel instead of feathers, and seed beads for the beads.
I also used a sewing needle while weaving the thread. It was my soul mate's idea, he saw me struggling to make the tiny pattern with my swollen, pregnant finger
s. Atfer I was done, I attached ear wires, or a neckace cord.
